Check Miami-Dade VINELink Custody

VINELink lets you follow custody changes after a Miami-Dade County arrest. Florida VINE runs the service. You can search online. You can also sign up for phone, text, or email alerts that fire when a person's status shifts. It works alongside other tools, not instead of them. The jail roster, the arrest report, and the court record each hold different pieces. Fresh bookings can lag before every connected system catches up. Federal or immigration custody needs a separate locator. Search with exact details, then confirm any match with the holding agency.

Miami-Dade VINELink Custody Coverage

Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation points victims and the public straight to Florida VINE. Its Victim Support Services page carries the referral. Anyone can check custody there or sign up for telephone, text, or email notices. The county page also links to the search tool. It offers a lookup for an existing registration as well. VINE runs a free hotline at 1-877-846-3435, and MDCR Victim Support Services answers at 786-263-6318. Florida VINE is described as free, secure, and confidential.

Know what the service is. It tracks custody, not mugshots or full booking records. A result may show current custody or a change an agency reported. The arrest narrative and the court outcome live elsewhere. MDCR's roster stays the direct county source for who is in jail. The Clerk holds the case trail.

Search Miami-Dade Custody on VINELink

The site is stateful, so a results page has no durable county-specific URL to bookmark. Start at VINELink and pick the jurisdiction fresh each time. Shared names make exact details matter.

  1. Open VINELink and select Florida.
  2. Choose the relevant county or agency when the interface requests it.
  3. Enter the person's name or identification number using the fields offered.
  4. Compare all possible matches by facility, identifier, custody status, and other displayed details.
  5. Confirm a likely county-jail match against MDCR before acting on it.

A blank result can mean several things. The spelling may differ, the booking may still be processing, release or transfer may have happened, or the record may fall outside the participating deployment. None of that rules out an arrest. The official VINELink search screen puts the jurisdiction first.

Miami-Dade VINELink Result Fields

Fields vary by agency feed and match quality. Treat each value as a custody update, nothing more.

Result elementWhat it means
Name or identifierA matching aid that should be checked against exact known details.
Custody statusThe status most recently supplied through the participating system.
Facility or agencyThe reported holder or source, which can change after transfer.
Registration optionA route to request notice of covered custody events.
Event informationA release, transfer, escape, death, or out-to-court event where supported.

VINELink is not a court docket. A release does not dismiss a charge, and a transfer does not convict anyone. Turn to Miami-Dade CJIS and the Clerk for case events and outcomes.

Custody status
The person's reported holding state at the time of the latest agency update.
Transfer
Movement from one facility or authority to another.
Disposition
The outcome recorded in court, separate from custody.

Register Miami-Dade Custody Alerts

Searching and registering are two separate steps. You can run a lookup with no alert attached. Registering adds your contact details so updates follow the record you picked.

  1. Open the matching VINELink record and choose the registration option.
  2. Select telephone, text, or email based on the options offered.
  3. Enter contact details for an account or device the registrant controls.
  4. Create or use a four-digit PIN when prompted, and keep it private.
  5. Save the confirmation or verification code needed to review the registration later.

FDC VINE material notes that phone calls keep repeating until you enter a four-digit PIN. Text and email alerts work differently. MDCR says a registration lookup takes a phone number or email plus a verification code. The county's Victim Support Services page adds local context.

Verify New Miami-Dade Arrests

Each connected agency controls when VINE refreshes. The public pages give no special Miami-Dade update interval. So a fresh arrest may show up first in the arresting agency's records. MDCR custody data can trail that. Alerts may trail further still. Every system can be right for its own stage while showing a different snapshot.

For a new county booking, weigh VINELink against the official MDCR in-custody roster. The Miami-Dade arrests last 24 hours process explains why intake can take hours. A released person drops off the live roster too. It also explains that. When timing is urgent, call the county contact instead of refreshing web searches.

Verification limit: VINELink can lag fresh intake and is not a full arrest history. Confirm the facility and current status directly with MDCR.

Neither MDSO nor MDCR lists a jail-roster app. County alerts, press releases, social accounts, visitation tools, and inmate communication apps do not offer the same person-level custody function.

Custody Systems Beyond Miami-Dade

County, state, federal, and immigration custody are separate worlds. A person can leave MDCR by release or transfer and resurface in another system. A VINE registration may not follow every move across those lines.

A detainer or transfer notice is not a new charge or a conviction. Confirm the receiving authority before assuming where someone is held.

Alerts Do Not Decide Guilt

An alert reports an operational event, nothing more. Depending on the deployment, it may say a person was released or moved. It may also report an escape, a death, or a trip to court. It will not say whether a prosecutor filed the booked charge. It will not tell you whether the charge changed, or how the case ended. Use the jail number or another identifier. That avoids mixing up people with similar names. From there, follow the Miami-Dade Clerk's criminal case path for official court events. Electronic CJIS access helps. But the Clerk warns it is not the certified official record.

Note: Keep every alert PIN, verification code, phone number, and email credential private. Keep all of it under the registrant's control.
